This proposal for a center for urban agriculture is a direct response to Grow Pittsburgh’s main mission to educate people about the processes and benefits of urban farming and provide them with the necessary tools to start their own garden. To help spread as much awareness about our activities as possible, this project emphasizes transparency and display to showcase the tangible benefits of urban agriculture to the general public. The large ceremonial staircase is designed to welcome people onto the site without feeling intrusive, to entice them to want to learn more about what we do.
