A design for a new entrance canopy for the Hunt Library at Carnegie Mellon University. A green roof canopy that lifts seamlessly from the College of Fine Arts Lawn allows for direct access to the second floor, and the carving out of the land in front allows access and daylight into the underground level while a bridge connects the lawn with the original sole entrance at the first floor. This proposal emphasizes the visual and physical access to different parts of the library while also brings library users closer to nature with the green roof entrance.
